We provide a variety of dental services with a focus on prevention.
GENERAL DENTISTRY
We provide gentle dental cleanings, emergency dental care, restorations, pediatric dentistry, crowns, extractions, root canals, dentures, bridges, oral cancer screenings, whitening and sedation.
KIDS DENTISTRY
Kids love Watermelon Dental. We provide a child friendly environment, allow the whole family in the dental operatory, offer Netflix and video games during the appointment, and offer sedation. We provide a “Free Under 3” program where children under 3 years of age get a free first dental visit.
Comfort Dentistry
We provide nitrous oxide, oral sedation, televisions, music, blankets and augmented reality glasses to improve your experience.

Dr. Sanj Mohanta
FOUNDER OF WATERMELON DENTAL
Dr. Sanj’s graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1999. She speaks at dental conferences across Canada and has written numerous articles in various publications. She volunteers with Filling the Gap Dental Outreach in Toronto, and 1000 Smiles in the Caribbean, and provides dental care to Indigenous communities in remote Northern Ontario. She started the New Dentist Study Club and volunteers with the Ontario Dental Association (ODA). Dr. Sanj was awarded the ODA Service Award, the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry Alumni of Influence Award and the Ontario Volunteer Award.
It was my dream to have a dental office that patients wanted to go. A place that was fun and not scary. A place where everyone felt welcome and the community connected. I called the office, Watermelon Dental, as it represents a place that is fresh, healthy and fun.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I VISIT THE DENTIST?
Yes, we accept all employer sponsored dental benefits as well as the following government dental programs: Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) and the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB).
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
OHIP does not cover dental care except in special circumstances. The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a public program for people with low income and no private insurance. Apply at canada.ca/dental
Does OHIP cover dental care in Ontario?
In most cases, OHIP does not cover routine dental care like cleanings, exams, or fillings. Some limited dental services may be covered in hospital or emergency situations, but everyday dental care is typically paid through private insurance or programs like the CDCP.
